different deal in the off-season, absolutely. I'm sure we could have gotten some picks/prospects in the deal - but Sutter was trying to save the season, and ultimately it was a big reason why he lost his job.
I wish he would have waited until the off-season. Even if it wasn't "better", so long as it was a different package for Dion, we'd be in a better situation. Sutter really did some significant damage to this organization in that 2-3 month span from the Dion trade until the end of the season.
