In what respect?
He is a defensive coach and has always had one of the better defensive squads since he started in Chicago. Unless of course they were plagued by injuries which has happened a few times before this season.
His players all love the way he coaches and from what I have heard they are all hoping he gets an extension this offseason. He is a very, very big believer in promoting from within the organization and is the kind of coach who will praise you when you are playing well and let you know when your not.
I think he has done a great job in bringing in Marinelli to run the defensive line, which has taken a big step forward, albeit with Peppers, but none the less they are all playing much better than in previous years. He also was the first one to bring up Mike Martz's name when they were looking for offensive co--ordinators.
I feel his coaching so far can be looked at it alot like Brent Sutter's, where people are calling for his head, but when you look at the team's he has had to work with in the past he has never really had the talent offensively to put points on the board. Hell, before the Cutler trade he had awful quaterbacks in Grossman and to a lesser extent, Orton. Also I have seen the sorriest group of Wide Reciever's come through this city than any other organization.
I think this season is a good indicator that he can put together a great defense, just make sure there is some talent on the offensive side of the ball.
