Horseshoe falls (The "Canadian" side) is actually where the border is - so it's half thiers.
And yeah the view is nicer from the Canadian side, as long as you don't turn around and see the monstrosity that NF, Ontario, is. Kitschy tourist crap everywhere.
The US side is a very quiet natual state park, and I love it there. It's 180 degrees from what you see on the Canadian side, and you can get up close and personal on the "under the falls" tours, unlike on the Canadian side.
That being said, NF, NY is a dump and home to a large proportion of the US EPA's superfund sites.
