It all depends upon the seriousness of the relationship. Cheating on your high school girlfriend of two months is a whole lot less serious then cheating on your wife who is also the mother of your children.
People who cheat on the parent of their kids pretty much seal the death sentence on their character right there since they've deprived their kid(s) the right to a normal upbringing. They're just a notch below murderers and pedophiles.
