Again, citizens lost all confidence in their council with this decision, and it put their discontent over the edge.

The reality is, most of those people were re-elected, so obviously the small minority who opposed the bridge were exactly that, a minority.
The bridge is being built, deal with it. The only thing we can complain about right now is that the inside isn't going to be a vibrant white colour, but a red. The problem is it will hide bloodstains, making the bridge a magnet for our inner city crime problem.
Down with the red bridge!
