The old bugaboo from last year is back...penalties, special teams and stupid mental mistakes.
McCarthy and Thompson also have to take a very long and hard look at getting a real RB in town and pronto because Brandon Jackson is not an every down NFL RB and if this team cant run the ball at even an average way, they are toast. Marshawn Lynch has to be available from the Bills as an example.
On the bright side, Aaron Rodgers was brilliant. The receivers minus James Jones boneheaded fumble were good, and the O-Line pass protected very well. Hard to find fault when you dont give up a sack against a defense featuring Peppers, briggs and Urlacher. The run blocking was a completely different story.

very disappointing result in a game they were the better team most of the night. I guess losing to a division rival on the road by a last second FG ahouldnt feel that bad, but this game was the Packers to win and they found ways to lose.

Aaron Rodgers was definately his usual self. The guy is automatic and it is frustrating as hell. But IMO Brandon Jackson needs to be given a bit more time. He is certainly not an every down back, and likely needs a 3rd down 5 and in RB to spell off of, but his first start was underwhelming and his second was against a defence that, when Urlacher is playing, is pretty tough to run against. That said, I wouldn't be shocked if the Packers make a play for Jacobs, Lynch or one of the Bengals trifecta based on this week alone.
That said, its hard tpo argue that the Packer aren't the clear favorite in the NFC with the Falcons close behind as a NFC champ favorite at least.
