*IF* you believe that abortion is the killing of a human being, then one need not look to the East to find a form of inhumane treatment to be outraged about. If we're to look down at people killing dogs, it's better that we don't have a practice in our own society that a large number consider to be the pinnacle of immoral behaviour.
That other countries also have abortion doesn't soften the moral blow. In fact, it's irrelevant.
