In most cases, yes. But not always, although it is unlikely that an insurance job will result in a better paint job than from the factory. One thing I have noticed is the newer cars have vastly inferior paint vs. the older models. Probably due to environmental concerns but that's speculation on my part.

Exactly. In fact I went out of my way to find the car I wanted that had no body work or repainting at all. Now the car is thrashed, which is why I'm so pissed.
Speaking of OEM, I'm going to make sure if any panels are replaced, they are OEM. Even if they are used I'm fine with that.
