Simply put, people don't like wrapping their genitals in pieces of plastic. It doesn't feel as good, it takes time. The abstinence people aren't so far gone as you might think when they emphasize monogamous relationships over simply not having sex. The most successful way to avoid disease and pregnancy is to delay sexual contact until you are in a stable relationship.
