This is why the average consumer (ie. less email addresses than pants) will not care about the lack of flash - "what's flash?".If it goes on behind the scenes and it works, it doesn't really matter whether HTML5 or Flash is the solution used.
Every website is optimizing to serve pages in iPad specific formats. Kind of ironic because website designers have been doing this for Internet Explorer for decades. Content providers have a vested interest to make their pages work on as many mediums as possible.
No Flash only becomes a problem when you can't do something because of it. It was more of a problem three months ago and is becoming less of a problem with announcements everyday.

No surprises really, but definitely a key piece for many of us.
