And this is a classic example of why we end up seeing more and more Canuck trolls.
- Caunck fan makes an decent post. Yes, slanted towards his team but I expect that from fans of other teams.
- Flames fan posts a reply that does more to bait trolls than to actually respond to the post.
- Then Canucks fans respond, and we get reported posts due to trolling.
I see all sorts of other things too. Recently in an OOT thread there was a post reported as trolling; the post was something like "Great save Luongo!" That is not trolling; it's a Canucks fan with an on-topic post.
It may be tougher to hear positive comments from Canucks fans right now; them in a winning battle for first in the NW and the Flames in a losing battle for the final playoff spot. But how did the Canucks get there? By winning more games than us.
If you see a legitimate trolling post (you guys all suck, too bad you don't have a good enough goalie/ traded half your team, etc) then you should do one of two things:
- Report it, then ignore it
- Ignore it
If you really want to get under a Troll's skin, the worst thing you can do to him is ignore his post. He will continue on, and after a while when nobody responds he head over to Oilfans.com to see if he can bait anybody there.
