The point of last night's episode was to show that the effects of the bomb going off wasn't just that the plane didn't crash, but changed many other stuff. The missing body was just 1 little change. Others are:
- Desmond being on the plane
- Boone's sister not on the plane
- Stewardess give Jack 1 bottle of booze instead of 2
- Jack being comforted by Rose instead of the other way around.
- Hugo saying he's the luckiest person in the world instead of him feeling unlucky...ect
At least that's my thoughts. They seem to be going with alternate realities as their plot device this year (instead of flashbacks/flashforward/time travel). Don't know if these 2 realities will be related at some point or be 2 separate events.
