Litter is just superficial.

There are much more useful endeavours that can be found if you want to 'save the world'. IMO busting someone for littering is right up there with busting someone for shoplifting for eating a grape at a grocery store. Litter from over packaging is just a symptom of a much greater problem. Over packaging is a huge waste of energy and resources. And it also pisses people off because it creates litter and looks bad.

If you are of the opinion that it looks bad and care enough, then once again, IMHO you have just as much right to pick it up as a person does to put it down.

It might make me look hypocritical, but I will get really pissed if I see someone pouring used oil down the storm drain.
