That's an awesome idea. I'm just starting to get the hang of things after playing for 3 nights. I now have a favorite place on most maps that I can get to. I don't really know the maps, but as long as I can get to my place and navigate a little it tends to work out.

I won my first game last night. Pretty excited. The other guys were mic happy so I could hear my name being mentioned a ton (usually wrapped in expletives). Trouble is I'm holding a baby when I'm playing, so I keep the sound super low. It was funny, I was dead last in most games and then all of a sudden I won two matches. The adrenaline was pumping like mad.

But since I have started just staying on the outside my k/d ratio has improved greatly. I went from 0.33 to 0.65 in a month. Also try to avoid going for revenge kills, if someone kills you forget about going to the same spot to find them just move on.
I'll agree with sticking to the outsides. Once you get inside it opens you up to attacks from all directions. At least figure out the map before you start running through the centre of the maps.

I disagree with your take on revenge kills. Usually you spawn in an area where you can get back at them, so if you get your bearings you can usually get the upper hand. I have the added health death perk (and it gets used often), so I usually just charge towards the scene of my death and it works fine.

My tip is when running through a high traffic or high danger area, find a safe spot and turn around. I find the number of people that hide out waiting for somebody to run by is high. They'll often try and sprint after you and knife you. I had a huge amount of success last night just sprinting through an open area, turning a corner and then hiding behind cover. 9 times out of 10 a guy would come sprinting right past me.

I also recommend not sticking around too much after a loud firefight. If you find a nice spot to pick guys off only stick around if you can get 3 kills in quick succession. If you are stationary and don't have your UAV running you are going to get rushed QUICKLY. It's a good situation to be in once you can activate it because guys will flood in your direction, but you'll have the advantage of knowing where they are coming from. Once that UAV stops it's time to get the F outta dodge.

I don't think I have gotten a single kill with a sniper rifle yet. That thing is so hard to use.
I stayed up extra late to get the thermal scope and was saddened to see how far it zooms. I liked it for the Afghan level as there are many guys hiding in the hills or in the caves, but for close quarter combat it's not as good. I love the ACOG and holographic sights though ... those things are glorious
