Yea it needs to recognize an external memory stick in order to work. (At least I thought so, I still haven't got it to work so maybe not.)

It could be that your TV does not accept the HDMI cord, though I have never heard of this before. Try using component cords and see if they work.
Though I probably don't need to ask, do you have a disc in the machine?

Hmmmm.. that article might be the reason. Tho the HDMI cord is the same brand as the TV (Dynex)

I thought it would be ok. I'm going to try it the other two outputs (right now it's in HDMI2, this tv has 3)
