Last summer I got into a car accident where it hurt to lay down, so sleeping was difficult. I ended up going to three different clinics because each doctor didn't seem to really care what the problem was he/she was too busy getting their prescription pad out. Each doctor gave me a different types of medication, neither of them working for my actual pain.

Finally made it to my family doctor and he had me go to physio and three sessions later I was perfectly fine.
Yeah, I bet doctors only write prescriptions for drugs manufactured by the companies they own shares in.

God, I'm so glad my two doctor parents, (who have spent the majority of their lives doing research and helping patients and their families, overworked, underpaid, barely recognized other than by their immediate colleagues, now divorced, probably a large part due to the fact they focused immensely on their careers), are rich from writing prescriptions and only thinking of themselves first and their patients second. These people who deal with our health care system are so unbelievably overworked and underpaid! I recall stories of a friend who worked in ER at the Rockyview. She witnessed the entire ER room chanting "Do Your Fracking Job" because people were tired of the lineups. That's just a minor example of the crap these people put up with. Hearing you spew this crap just encourages the ignorance and you should feel responsible for it.

I'm bordering on going totally Shergill in this thread because of your post but am trying to contain myself.

The thinking isn't all that hard to follow.

New Flu Strain. No one or very few have an immunity to it, as such, flu shots are best prevention. In addition, wash hands, cough in sleeves, try to be clean.

Seasonal flu is generally variations of strains that have been going around for awhile and as such a lot of us are already exposed to them, or like ones. As such, if a healthy individual gets sick they should be fine and elderly/sick should get flu shot to help prevent the chance of suffering complications. If you want one and are healthy, that's nice, go and get a seasona vaccine.

This one looked to be worse, had the POTENTIAL to be worse, was is? Is it? Some people got pretty sick, some people died, and sadly that happens all the time. But, now, after the fact it looks like it wasn't as serious as it could have been.

I'm confused, nothing more than what Flu? Asiatic Flu? Spanish Flu? Last years Flu? Hong Kong Flu? Next Years Flu? The Flu can be pretty serious. This was was an H1N1 like the Spanish Flu - it got peoples attention. Good, I'm glad people are watching these things for us.

A joke? Hardly, one day there very likely will be a pandemic of epic proportions. These jokes will likely have come at a mild annoyance to you, but will likely in the long run save very many lives.

That's good! It's probably the best way to live! But how about not making ignorant statements about people who have decided to spend the majority of their lives helping others.

You might be right for a few of them. But the majority are sitting in hospitals, walk in clinics, research facilities and universities 5 - 7 days a week helping people like you and me and our families. Try to show a little respect.

/end rant. I Apologize if taken to seriously.
