Hey guys.
I received a notice today that my license will be suspended from Oct 3rd to Nov 3. I am a pretty safe driver who sometimes only slightly rebels against the government speed limits.
Last year I got a ticket for going 122 in a 100 zone on highway 9 near Strathmore. On Aug 1st I got a ticket for going about 30 K over in Calgary (hey, I was just going with the traffic! I swear!

). According to the alberta government website, that amounts to 7 points, and since I am on the GDL, I can have up to 8 points. I lost my second ticket, and after searching for it, I just left it until I got a late notice. I did not think it was a big deal, I would just pay the late fee. Eventually I did get it back, then just left the letter on my desk and basically neglected it until now. I paid 22 days after the court date.
After googling, I found that my license could have been suspended because it was not paid within 15 days of the court date. I tried calling the government, but they are closed right now.
Am I hooped? Should I just make arrangements for transportation? Or is there a chance I could get them to just make me take a driving course or something in place of the suspension?
I dont really want to take this to court or anything, I would rather just suck it up and surrender my license.
