It maybe the rules but at the same time one can be flexable. For example if i'm out playing golf and there's a group behind me i'm going to make sure I maintain a proper pace of play and to keep up with the group ahead of me. On the other hand if no one is behind me my playing time might slip as I will be concentrating more on my shots. I have yet to meet a course marshall who told groups to speed up when no one is playing behind them.

Yes, but you are playing a on a Saturday morning not an $8M purse tournament where things need to be fair. Else people are going to ask why some players are getting special treatment. Just because you are in the last group doesn't entitle you to a different set of rules, does it?
