I don't know if the engine even matters that much. I think it's pretty much straight stats.
How often do claims happen on a certain type of car?
I had a Cobalt SS. At the time I sold it I got $14K for it. 205HP. The insurance was MUCH higher than the car I replaced it with, an Audi S4, bought for $40K and 340HP. It really doesn't make sense, until you stop to think of how many 16 year olds are crashing S4's vs how many are crashing Cobalts. The only guys that buy S4's are 50 year old soccer dad's and me, so they don't see too many claims.
