What I didn't notice was it's only PGA tour events. So they have played in like 70 PGA events(at the time of the article) plus ? majors and Padraig has won once. Not exactly impressive. Interesting is that Weir has five of his wins when Tiger was entered.

I think Padraig doesn't play US style courses well... he's more a links guy.

Might be a career/lifestyle choice I think. When you win the US Open you get a 10 year PGA tour exemption IIRC. Campbell should have been immediately living in the US competing against the best every week. But instead he seems satisfied with his life in NZ and on other tours. He views his US Open win as the pinnacle of his career and is comfortable now.
The opposite would be Vijay Singh. He was hacking it around from one tour to another not unlike Campbell. Even caught cheating at one point. Then he won the PGA Championship got an exemption into the PGA Tour (2-3 years?) and just took off. He's made a bazillion dollars based on one major win.
World players dream of winning a US Major to ensure a lifetime on the PGA Tour. Campbell has this chance but has decided to stay home.
