I think you should watch Law & Order. There are two distinctly separate groups the police that find the criminals and the district atorny's that prosocute them.
I can be all for harsh sentances and not be hypocritical in saying the police should use the minimum force neccessary to aprehend a suspect. The two aren't mutually exclusive.
While we are at it why don't we take everyone who is involved in a car chase and test drugs on them instead of animals
