I have a cottage 15 minutes outside of Moncton (Shediac) and am seriously considering moving their permanently when I retire.

PS for the people who don't know, the South east side of NB is on the Northumberland Straight. As it is shallower than the Atlantic and PEI blocks it from being right on the Atlantic, it's water are incredibly warm. Looking for a cottage looke there, or on the western side of PEI.
I think you're forgetting that there are a lot of beaches along the North Western coast of Nova Scotia that are just as warm as anything you'll find in NB or PEI... seeing as it's the same body of water.

If you want a cottage, look around Pictou, Antigonish, etc. All the benefits you speak of without the stigma of being in NB.

Shediac is great though. Only place in New Brunswick I will intentionally return to. Anyone ever been to Edmundston? Yikes, what a place.
