At his core, Stewart is an entertainer. Pandering to his audience is his job. If you're looking for scathing political commentary, The Daily Show is not where you find it.

Besides, how do you actually debate barely disguised ignorance without becomming frustrated? That wouldn't make for good TV... just ask MSNBC.
