Why wouldn't Reese have just brought the "cure" from the future and give it to John to protect?
It really seems Reese (Or anyone sent back by future John) should come with a vast amount of intel to give present day John!

Well she would still be "the cure" no matter what. However, I think this is one of the main themes of the show (and the movies) is that you can't change the future.
Technically, in T1, if Skynet never sent back a terminator, Reese would never have been sent to protect Sarah, and John Connor never would have been concieved!
