For homecoming we would get a barrel, rinse it out really well, and make a barrel full of purple jesus (alcool and grape Koolaid). We would be blitzed and then go to the football game.
One year the homecoming game was being televised (on CHCH, channel 11, Hamilton) and the TV guys wanted a bunch of cheering fans in the stands right behind the reporter (Dick Smythe). No problem. Except that as soon as the sideline update began, one guy started chanting "Dick beats his wife! Dick beats his wife!" and everyone joined in. Poor Dick finished his segment then stomped away.
