I definately would not recommend a movie, how the heck are you going to get to know eachother? I would say pick a pub or coffee shop a bit on the quieter side. After about an hour or two, move on to something interactive like bowling, golf, pool etc.
Tip: Get her to meet you at your place before you leave to go out. Meet her at the door while tying your shoes or whatever, then leave. This will make it easier for you to invite her over afterwards, because she has seen where you live and is more comfortable with it. Because remember, you have to show her your cool new stereo in your room, or your exotic fish collection.........or whatever
