I loved what I saw out of the Saints D yesterday, and was especially impressed(and surprised) with the play of rookie CB Tracy Porter. He made some huge plays and kept Galloway in check all day. I kept expecting Galloway to give Porter his "welcome to the pros, rook" double move for a 65 yard TD, but it never came(which can also be attributed to the increased pressure the DL brought. I was very impressed what I saw out of Sed Ellis).
The offence had some rust, which I guess is expected on opening week, but I still liked what I saw. Bush looked great when taking quick pitches out of the backfield, and I LOVED what I saw out of Shockey, the energy he brings to the O is contageous. Unfortunately I still worry about our inside run game. PT looked good, but once he went down our run game fell off. Bush may have looked solid on those pitches, but I still felt he was dancing too much on hand-offs. If the Saints can establish a consistent and effective inside run game(through either Deuce, PT, Stecker, an FA signing(Alexander?) or all of the above), then this offence is complete.
