Actually I'd beg to differ that you don't need "much." From my experience, I think the difference is significant.
Aside from eating right (lots of protein, cut down on "fast" sugar, "slow" sugar (eg banana) is OK, I take:
Protein shakes
Glutamine
Arginine
Creatine
BCAA (branched chain amino acids)
L-Carnitine (helps burn fat)
Casein (before sleep, protects muscle)
