Western Canada is not as affected, but it definitely is happening in Europe. I think the biggest reason is most likely that Muslims tend to have large families, while most traditional western citizens are having less and less kids. With that, it doesn't take more than a couple of generations to make a serious impact on demographics.
Whether it's good or bad, is up for debate, but Europe is definitely trending towards it.

I wouldn't say it's scary, yet... But I do see a danger of a growing influx of people who aren't familiar with Western institutions such as British common law and plural government. Even talking to some of my Muslim friends, you can detect a sincere misunderstanding or even hostility to plural perspectives.
It's something which definitely has to be met with more education and integration of Muslim communities, before it reaches the point of ethnic or political conflict between Muslims and "integrated Canadians."
