Interesting that you bring that up. What if McCain had a spiritual advisor who had called on Americans to "make war on Islam" in order to eradicate it from the planet as a "false religion"? One who claims that Mohammed was guided by Demons and that "Allah was a demon spirit"? Or what if McCain was endorsed by another spiritual leader who called the Catholic church "the great whore"?

The thing is, both of those things did happen. And if "spiritual advisor" is an official campaign position (it isn't--the very idea is ludicrous), then surely we should be hearing calls for McCain to repudiate both of these men. But on that topic, the silence from the mainstream media is deafening.

Personally, I don't think either candidate should be held responsible for what another person believes That's just attacking someone by proxy because you don't have good grounds for attacking them directly. But why doesn't the same standard apply to McCain's spiritual leaders?

I'll give you a hint. It's because they can't jump.
