50 watts tube would be PLENTY loud for getting over drums... thats what I use! I have that Traynor blue....

when you turn a SS amp up it starts to clip and sound like crap... so you would probally wouldnt be able to go up higher then 60-70 percent of the total volume like foofighter said.

With a tube amp they actually sound WAY better the louder you turn them up... the term overdrive actually comes from overdriving tube amps, and thats what makes that sweet crunch sound.

50 watts tube sounds louder then 100 watts SS.
