Get Firefox. IE7 is an upgrade from IE6 but it's still a substandard browser that lacks many features.

For instance, Firefox handles session cookies. You can clear out all cookies every time you shut down the browser, with exceptions for your favourite sites (such as CP). This helps reduce the garbage stored on your computer and reduces the amount of advertising tracking that goes on.

In my experience, corporate programmers are far worse then open source developers, especially in how they take liberties with your system. Microsoft is no exception to this.

Plus, it can be set to accept cookies from the site you are browsing, rather then blindly accepting all third party cookies.

Edit: Firefox is up to version 2.0.0.11 now. Might want to check it out if your last experience was with 1.5
