Which artical?
Fact is with Moss in the fold it's allowed Brady to do absolutely unreal things. Really did Randall Cunningham make the 1998 Vikings? He just had the arm strength to heave the ball down the field and Moss would catch it. Whitlock doens't slag Manning, just says that when he doesn't have great support around him, he too is mortal. Tom Brady and the Patriots had a lot of injuries in 2005 and a few people rumbled that Brady wan't having a great year, while others challenged that he in fact was the reason that the Pats were still a 10-6 team. That year Manning had the Colts at 13-0 and breaking all the records and everyone said he had finally surpassed Brady. Last year he finally had a bit of a defence and was able to win the Superbowl with a stellar supporting cast.
The Patriots response was to surround Brady with better players, and whether you want to admit it or not the Patriots are the best team in the NFL. I think there is a lot of truth to that artical in that Randy Moss has had a bigger impact on that Patriot juggernaut than any other player. I don't think there is any conicidence that the two highest scoring offences in the last 20 years featured Randy Moss having a great season. He's been motivated, and he's been damn good. If he had been traded to the Colts....I think they'd be the team who's currently 10-0.
