Default More "thanks"?

15-20 is simply not enough for that election thread.

Heck 15-20 isn't enough for Fotze's posts alone.

I'd give up the thanks button completely if we got a 'No Thanks' button in return.

And that, alone, is the very reason why there will never be a "No Thanks" button here.

Ive only ran out of thanks once so far and it was for a minimal time.

I like it the way it is.

I usually run out of thanks, but I use thanks often as a way to avoid replying when I see a post that I enjoy.

If l see that 4 or more people have thanked a post, I thank it myself, regardless. If I see that someone responds to a post that pwns the other person and lots of people thank it, I too thank it to be part of the 'gang' mentallity.

Of course the real stat would be to correlate these with the # of posts made since the thanks system came in.

Bump.

Seriously is there anyway to get more thanks? Just not enough especially on gamedays and spending as much time on CP as I do (I know, I'm a loser)

There are a lot of posts worthy of thanks, but I do understand if you don't wanna depreciate the value of a thanks.

So, if you have a teenager who tells you they need more allowance because they spend it all too fast, do you just give them more money; or tell them they need to budget their money?

I like the limited thanks. Look at the "Funny Picture" thread- I would probably thank at least 1/2 of the posts. But now when I see a 5 minute Youtube video with 15 thanks under it; I know it is worth my time.

Same goes for some very long posts; often if I don't know who the poster is I might just skip over the post. But then I see a whole bunch of thanks at the bottom; I may go back because I know it's worth a read.

Because thanks is limited; it means something. That also hopefully makes posters think twice about what they write- so if they make a good contribution maybe they will get a thanks or two out of it.

If I'm ever digging around in the database and am bored I'll try and remember to see if i can create a query to do that, should be pretty straight forward.

It's been about 12 hours, how's that list coming along?

While you're at it, can we get a thanks/per thanked posts stat?
