I was not expecting these moves at all, but I have a hunch that Sutter has pulled another rabbit out. Very good value for both players, and if both can have a rebound year, he'll look like a genius.
Shocked. I understand bringing Tanguay back and imo it is a good rate for him. But I am completely baffled at the Jokinen signing.
I don't Sutter is done yet. I think the writing is on the wall for Langkow to be moved and I still think Regehr is going to have a new team to play for.
I don't dislike them, in fact I like the Tanguay move a lot. Jokinen is a head scratcher but for the price I'm not complaining. Jackman and Ivanans I'm not so keen on.
I guess I'm just kind of underwhelmed more than anything. Maybe it's my own fault for expecting too much but I don't think we made a significant enough improvement to our top 6.
With that said, it's still only July 1st and I don't see this being our opening roster. The center situation is just too weird for me to believe this is it.
I feel like crying and am even more embarassed to be a Flames fan. Just when I thought Sutter couldn't screw up even more, he managed to prove me wrong once again. These moves reak of desperation and instead of wondering if we are a playoff team team, I think we should be discussing if we are a lottery team
I like them, but it doesn't really matter if I like them or not - it will matter in a few months on the ice. If Jokinen puts up a 25 goal year, and Tanguay gets 50 assists, then we will look back at Sutter as a genius.
I don't think anyone believes that these are moves that will help us win the cup - we are still missing an additional elite level forward.
