Default Norton Security Scan

Im running Vista on my Dell XPS and just recently I noticed that when I load up Norton Security Can automatically installs itself?

Ive tried uninstalling it and it just pops back up when I restart.

I've also tried googling to find out if its spyware and I do believe it is but I can't seem to get it out of my system? After attempting to run some programs to detect it i haven't had any luck.....

Anybody with suggestions?

Straight from Symantec's website:

How do I uninstall Norton Security Scan?
1. Click Start > Settings > Control Panel.
2. Click Add or Remove Programs.
3. Click Norton Security Scan, and then click Remove.

If that doesn't work permanently, then the buzz on the web is that this is your only real option. It should do the trick for you permanently.

If OBCT's suggestion doesn't work, backup all your data, re-stage your PC and don't use Norton. Use a free scanner such as avast! or AVG.

Nod32 is by far the best virus scanner I have ever used, small foot print, non-obnoxious updates EVERYDAY.

Nod32 is used by many gamers. Amazing. Norton is such bloatware compared to this.
