Slowpitch Team
Since I was late on jumping on the cp slowpitch team I and i'm sure some others on cp are wondering if anyone has room on their teams. Me and my buddy are looking to join a team. Please let me know if anyone has anything available! We are located in mckenzie town but are willing to travel!

This prob could have gone in the other thread since we check it all the time.
We could have used one of you last night but how good are you at short notice?

we would be pretty good at short notice all depends on the day of the week. I did not want to put it in the other thread because we would like to find a permanent team. and yes we can hit dingers! We have been doing exclusive ps3 batting training and I would like to inform any interested teams we have both made it through aa and aaa and our now in the big leagues!

I posted in the other thread yesterday, but in case it gets lost, I'll post here as well: I'm looking for another team to play on in the summer, or to play as an alternate when needed.
In my spring league (CSSC tuesday rec-plus), I have 6 HRs in four games, mostly the result of hit-placement as opposed to power, and a batting average of roughly .750. I'm okay playing anywhere except for pitcher or third (don't have the throwing accuracy to consistently make plays from 3rd). Also missed some games due to ankle injury, but I think it's good now.

CalPuck itself has two teams, and as I messaged Octothorp when he posted in that thread the SW team has 10 guys ( I assume you and friend are male?) and one spare that comes out anyways. So the odds of us needing players on a permanent basis is slim this year. Maybe next year we will have some room.
Try contacting Softball Calgary, I think on thier website they have an area for players/teams that are looking.
Really the time to be looking for a team, especially if you are looking for a more competitive situation is Jan/Feb. That's when teams are filling out, or finding out if they need players. Coincidentally that is when fees are starting to come due.
Have you tried Calgary Sport and Social Club? They split Spring and Summer into two sessions. Thier summer session should be starting real quick and they may have teams looking for players.
As troutman mentioned, you should come out to a game on a Sunday. Have a beer with the gang. Maybe we throw you in the fire and see what you've got.

Yeah and the Central team has 7 men and are only required 6. It happened last night that we needed a sub, but it wasn't urgent; we can still field with 5 guys. Anyway, the point being that we could perhaps use one more guy, but it definitely wouldn't be regularly.

We play double headers, first game at 1805, second at 1930.
We play all games at Optimist in the SW, except once a season we have to play in the NE at McKnight and 32nd I believe. Challenger Park I think.
This coming Sunday that is where we play the NE.

Maybe we could get another team up for the summer months. I would also be interested in playing. I'm very good defensively (especially in LF good range and catching ability), and can hit for average. My last "season" I hit .650, not a lot of HR's only 2 in 4 games before a season ending concussion.

Ok so for calgary sport and social club it is 500 if we register a full team. It would be 8 weeks starting july 6th every sunday games are usually around 630 at night and from past dealings with calgary sport and social there are no games on the long weekends. We would need 10 players on the field with at least 3 girls. That is for the rec plus (which is slightly more competitive) So we have 3 guys confirmed so far anyone else interested?
