That's absolutely ridiculous, I feel bad for the young girl(and all associated family members of these people).

sounds pretty grisly...

"The scene has rocked city police, the first officers at the scene are now undergoing peer support treatment for what they have witnessed and it has even shocked 30 year veteran officers."

Crazy year for murders in this city already. This is one record where we don't need to be ahead of Edmonton in.

Wow....Must have been an absolutely massacre.

I remember the Police doing a presentation to us about the grisly side of Calgary's homicide unit.......That was pretty bad....But if this is shocking veterans of the force, then this has to be REALLY bad...

Very shocking to hear about.

Hate to say it, but this sounds like a gang style execution.

Jesus Christ that is scary man. We take our daughter to a day home in Dalhousie, this feels like it is hitting close to home.

Or maybe some whack job went looney tunes and took down a whole bunch of victims before offing themselves as well. That would explain the odd number of adult victims in a supposidly family home.

Gawd... having to be the first officer walk in there and see what they did, and we don't even know the full details. They'll be scarred for life, that's for sure.

Why do people make these decisions to kill others. It's as simple as choosing NOT to; and why would you knowing the likely consequences of doing so?

Bah.

I'm hoping the "Calgary is getting too violent" crowd doesn't jump out all over this. It's happened before, it's happening now, and it will happen again, MANY times over in MANY different cities. That's not to say we become complacent about things like this, but it's part and parcel of a city with now over a million people.

I would put my money on an estranged husband killing his wife and kids, and the couple they were staying with after they left him.

Gangs aren't real big fans of killing children. It makes for bad press.

Along the lines of what I was thinking.

Three adults, two kids: estranged husband/boyfriend kills his wife, her new boyfriend and the kids, then himself.

Yah, this sounds emotionally motivated. Not sure about you but if it was gangs, knife seems a bit personal when you could just double tap them clean.

If the murders are violent it is usually a sign of rage, which usually means the murderer knew the victims. Much like you stated.
