i know my dad swears by Nokian. For a rav4 you'd probably be looking at the Nokian WR SUV. Check out their site: http://www.nokiantires.com/en/DEFAULT.ASPX

Thanks. KAL Tire is the only Calgary distributor, apparently.

My wife converted me to Fountain Tire for just about all of our vehicular maintenance. I wasn't sold - always a "back to the dealership" kind of guy - but I'm a big believer now.
I'd recommend one of them to you. The are owner operated which tends to produce a little higher quality product/service in today's marketplace.

Costco. Lots of good deals on Michelins there, especially when the coupon comes out for them.

Third for Costco! Their prices are reasonable, and they have good brands.

I ran Hankook Z36's on my Pathfinder for years.
Good reliable tire that never let me down in Winter.
Fairly quiet in Summer as well.
YOu can usually get em installed for about 100 / tire.

I'll jump on the Costco bandwagon as well. I just got four new Michelin X-Terrain for $160 each installed. The only downfall is they don't take appointments. Stand in line first thing in the morning so you can get in for the installation.

I've had nothing but good luck with BF Goodrich - All Terrains. Those things have been bulletproof for around 250k km on my truck (going onto the 4th set) - might be a bit much for your application though.

The new goggles also do nothing.

Costco is very nice, though I really want Nokians.

I have a similar question except for a Grand Am SE. I need new tires and I was thinking about the Yokahama Avid TRZ. Are they as good as they are hyped up to be?

theres no such thing as all season tires. its a scam. for some reason, canadians have fallen for the idea of "all season" tires.. it truly doesn't exist. for winter driving, get winter tires

Actually I do, in fact, have winter tires.
So, I guess what I'm looking for then is a set of them "not really all season" tires.

what you wanna get reggie, if you have winter tires, is a nice pair of soft tires to give you a smooth ride in the summer

If one lived in a snow belt - for sure. However Calgary is not a snow belt and we haven't seen much snow these last few winters. Add in all the chinooks we get every year....snow tires are a waste of money. Been using all seasons for over 20 years and never a problem
