Default Wireless Router Help

Okay CP, this has been driving me insane.

I'm trying to hook up an Acer laptop to my wireless network. It worked at one point, but then I got my MacBook and had to try and disable my router's MAC filter and afterwards I cannot get this thing working on the wireless network.

Heres the kicker: It connect to the network just fine. The windows XP wireless network indicator shows a 'Very Good' connection. But, if you open Internet Explorer you cant surf and Outlook cant check email.

When I leave the TCP/IP settings at "Obtain Automatic IP Address" then the IP is set to 0.0.0.

So, I tried to set it up manually. I believe I have all of the correct settings except the DNS address.

What am I doing wrong, what have I done wrong?

I either cant connect because I screwed up some setting on the router, but my MacBook works and connects just fine, as does the Acer.

Or:

Some setting(DNS?) on the Acer is messed.

I called Shaw, and they told me to call Dlink, which essentially got me nowhere.

Do I have to reset my router (with the pinhole reset on the back) and start from scratch? What is the freaking deal here?

Sounds like the wireless router is acting like MAC filtering is still enabled. That would explain being able to see the network but getting 0.0.0.0 for an IP.

MAC address filtering is useless anyway, disable it. If someone knows enough to break your encryption they can easily spoof the MAC address.
