Buffalo Bills tight end Kevin Everett sustained a "catastrophic" and life-threatening spinal-cord injury and his chances of regaining a full range of body motion are very small, an orthopedic surgeon said Monday.

It didn't look good. I hope his prognosis improves. Sad to see it happen. Considering how violent pro football is. I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often.
Couldn't stop thinking about the guy all day, and I didn't see it happen..just heard about it later. Horrible thing, but they all know what kind of physical risks they take.
I hope he makes a miraculous recovery. Evidently he does have SOME feeling so I guess that has prevented the doctors from ruling out a full recovery...but they did say it's not at all likely.

Yeah, shades of Mike Utley or Dennis Byrd. Such a young guy to have something like this happen too. Tragic, but it is a part of the game and like Mike Utley said...it will happen again. The type of thing where no matter what you do, you'll never be able to prevent it 100%. Hopefully something miraculous occurs and he can make some type of recovery.

Here's hoping that he makes a full recovery. I was watching the Green Bay vs Philly game and had just flipped to that game and was wondering what had happen. The reply of the hit does not look good at all with him being almost lifeless after the hit. I'm surprised there is not more of this in football with the guys getting stronger and stronger.

This would be amazing if somehow he could walk again and because he is so strong and healthy the chances have to look pretty good compared to most. I don't think he will ever play NFL football again but I am sure walking is his first priority.
