2006/2007 CP Head 2 Head Fantasy Hockey Pool
Well continuing in the tradition of having two different types of hockey pools for CP, I started up another head to head league.
We had 18 people in it last year and would like to repeat that this year. Those interested just post here and try to be open for the draft which willl be on Sunday October 1st at 3pm MST.
What I'll do is hold space for the defending champion Suave and to the bronze medal placing Jiri Hrdina.

I'm in, but won't be able to make an afternoon draft.
I can just pre-rank though.

I will be honored to defend my championship. Hopefully this year those that sign up play through the season. I remember some people by week 3 weren't setting their lineups.

What's a head-to-head league though? Is it the same thing a lot of NFL pools do where it's points based, but you "play" a different person every night?

Sort of...you face a different person each week in a head to head matchup. And in hockey there are say 10 categories included in the scoring system. So at the end of the week say you are beating your opponenet in goals, assists and +/- and you guys are tied in SHP and PPP but he beat you in GAA and W. Your record after week one would be 3-2-2. And the rankings would be based on who has the best winning record.

I am in and should have plenty of time this year to make sure I don't have a starting goalie that is injured for 2/3's of the season!

3 Suggestions, with #1 being the most important.
1. We need to set a maximum number of moves. Otherwise people will just stream players off the FA everyday. i.e. Drop 4 or 5 players everyday and replace them with 4 or 5 off the FA list to maximize the number of games played. This is a MUST. I recommend a max of 30.
2. Can we add Shots on Goal as a category?
3. Can we get rid of the Can't Cut List. It sucks if one of the players on there gets inured for the whole season and you have to keep him on your team. Any player-dumping can be regulated by Pagal.

Well, the roster moves can be limited. Just never thought of it, but it makes sense.
SOG as a category eh? I don't like it, but if hte league wants it, the league will have it. So if more then half of the league is OK with SOG as a category, I will add it.
As for the can't cut list...it is in place so that people can't conveninatly drop say....Crosby and another team that needs a scoring forward just happens to pick him up. IF a player on your can't cut list is out for the season, PM me and I can force him OFF of your roster and you can pick someone else up. The only way a CAN'T CUT LISTED player can be cut is if he is out FOR THE YEAR.
EDIT: I have put the macimum roster moves at 25...and that can be changed as the season goes along.
I have cappd the league at 14, so that means ONE MORE SPOT LEFT....first come first serve.
