A pretty cool story from Rochester, N.Y. that I thought I'd share with you guys. Check out the video of it on the right hand side as well.
"It was the stuff of Hollywood, but it was real.
Senior Jason McElwain had been the manager of the varsity basketball team of Greece Athena High School in Rochester, N.Y.
McElwain, who's autistic, was added to the roster by coach Jim Johnson so he could be given a jersey and get to sit on the bench in the team's last game of the year.
....And, in his first action of the year, McElwain missed his first two shots, but then sank six three-pointers and another shot (video), for a total of 20 points in three minutes. "
awe man thats so awsome !! my best friends brother is autistic, and i know a couple of other kids that are to. i cant get that video to work, but i can imagine how happy his teammates would be, just reading that story put a smile on my face
Rome has dedicated his entire show to this topic today - and in imho, this is one of the most powerful stories (sports or otherwise) that I have ever seen - simply incredible. Much of the video on the internet has been 'removed' (due to 'copyright' concerns). For those of you who haven't heard about J-Mac, here is good piece by ESPN on this amazing story. Warning, high likelyhood of tears.
