Pittsburgh and Columbus have been confirmed to play each other but we don't know who will be 2nd and 3rd. That hasn't been decided. My prediction will have a lot to do on who gets home ice (with Letang out).

Crazy that one of the top-4 teams in the league is guaranteed to not make the second round.

The should be the best series of the first round. I'll need some time to think about it and see who gets home advantage but am leaning towards Columbus. They seem to have something special going this season and Pittsburgh will really be missing Letang.

This is why I don't like the new playoff format. This match up should be in the second or third round, not the first.

Pittsburgh has the offence and experience to win a series like this.

Its going to be one off of a series that's for sure.
But I am just happy to have both my teams in this year.

Penguins in 7 games. Even without Letang I think they can win a series or maybe two.

Blue Jackets in 7.
Problems with the Penguins:
Stanley Cup hangover
No Kris Letang
Still a lot of players banged up: Daley, Maatta, Malkin, Kunitz, Hagelin, Cullen, Rust
Jackets are relatively healthy
The Penguins might find a way with their experience to get through the series if it were a lesser team, but the Jackets have been consistently good all year and they have depth to their lineup (11 players with 10 or more goals).
It will be close throughout, but I'm taking the Blue Jackets in an upset.

Jackets also like to play physical with the Penguins. I think it will be Columbus in 7.
