Strange question. Are there any public microwaves downtown where I can heat up food. I moved to a new office on 8th street SW and we dont have one yet.

Yea I was going to say you are probably better off letting your co-workers destroy one versus using a public one. I bought one off Kijiji for 15 dollars from an old couple a few years ago to take into our research hut in the mountains. It was cleaned right up and worked perfectly. Try there maybe for a cheap short term solution?

Or you can just covert your desktop or water dispenser into a cook top or hot pot. I think there was a video in the Funny picture/video thread. I am sure IT won't mind. Could even expedite the procurement of the microwaves. If that doesn't work then I would check the food courts at TD or Bankers. They might be tucked away there.

Hrmm.. then you need to find the nastiest smelling lunch you can think of to bring in there that doesn't require a microwave. Eat it, while talking with your mouth full and loudly and walk around the office crop dusting everyone with its awful scent.
Then when confronted say you prefer to eat lilies and cotton candy but need a microwave to do so. Watch them crumble to your will.

Anyone who designs commercial buildings, or writes policy / workplace rules in said buildings, that don't accommodate microwave ovens should be unemployed. And they should also be forced to give up their own home microwave in favour of sterno canisters.
