Caroll probably has a better chance at making it to the NHL as sizey depth wingers are always in some degree of demand.
Schneider has higher NHL upside (since even a backup goalie is more important than a 4th line winger) but the odds are stacked against him in a world where a quality 1B just entering his prime, like Ortio, is discarded without second thought.

Yeah I like Schneider. He's been lucky with injuries in Penticton and in Stockton having given him a chance and he's taken advantage of the situations. Sometimes fate smiling on you has a lot to do with success.
Schneider.
I think he has some interesting qualities, and goalies are such an unknown until they get a little older.
Don't see much potential in Carroll outside of the AHL.

Schneider's starting to pull away! Quick, vote for Carroll!

Gotta go with the goalie. I have seen very little of either player. Yet Carroll is a big player that relied on his size in junior and was effective. Came to the AHL and did not do a lot.
Is that because of coaching and the lines he played on? I don't know. Yet I cant call his performance impressive at all.
Schneider at least has shown flashes. I will not defend this pick too strongly though, this is what the 27th selection? We are in scrub territory.
I went Carroll, but could have went either way - preference was for one of these lads:
Still pulling for the two intriguing project prospects to make the Top 30 - Mattson & Falkovsky...
I pick Schneider - I like his compete level and what he has shown so far. Very mature goalie for his age in my opinion, and has the 'right stuff' to be a starter in this league.
I really like Carrol, and see him as a really great 4th liner for the Flames down the road who will be a difference maker - but still a 4th liner. Ceiling is pretty low, but should be a valuable 4th liner with his size and aggression. I still have a couple of guys ahead of him right now, but I really do like Carrol.
