Predict the 2016/2017 Flames Starting Lineup
Ok so normally I would wait on creating this thread until the summer, but I have a feeling we are going to be pretty bored aside from the lottery/draft/prospect rating pools. Also seems like a lot of people are creating their lineups in other threads anyway.
Here's my really early / optimistic view:
Gaudreau - Monahan - Laine
Ferland - Bennett - Shinkaruk
Colborne - Backlund - Frolik
Bouma - Stajan - Hathaway

For the love of God I hope Bollig is outta here somehow. Would really like Nakladal back as well.

Because as you Said he would be 19 and instead of getting to eat popcorn in the press box he could be playing top pairing minutes in Stockton.

Kylington has huge potential but he's nowhere near NHL ready IMO. Still needs to put on weight, still needs to work on his defensive game, still needs more experience in pro overall.
I thought Wotherspoon showed really well. And I think his style of play would complement our group. He looked NHL ready to me. He'll be my favourite of the youngsters to win a role.

FBI I think your OP is very, very close to what we will get depending on the draft of course.
My only possible objections:
Not sure Shinkaruk makes the team out of camp but agree he might be our most NHL ready prospect
I think Raymond might be given a last shot with the big club
Not convinced Reimer will be the guy. I am very, very nervous about a long term contract with him. I can see our second first round pick (go Dallas) traded for a goalie.

I think a lot of this has to do with the outcome of the draft lottery. If we jump up to the top 3, then you can pencil in that guy in your top 6 immediately and probably can ignore free agency up front. If we stay at 5 or even drop a spot or two, it's either Chychrun or a forward who'll need another year of development. If they draft Chychrun, I'd expect them to go hard after a big-name UFA winger.
IF THEY DRAFT TOP 3:
Gaudreau - Monahan - Laine/Puljujärvi
Colborne - Bennett - Frolik
Ferland - Backlund - Shinkaruk
Bouma - Stajan - Hathaway
Jooris, Bollig
Giordano - Brodie

IF THEY DRAFT CHYCHRUN:

I like how there was so much anger at the flames for winning last night and how it cost us the draft, yet this morning everyone still has laine/Pullujarvi pencilled into the top line for next year.

Holy overpayment for not a good goalie. I wouldn't even trade the 2017 1st let alone Colborne and a prospect on top of it.
There will be cheaper better goalies available.

Cause the Fins fill a major hole and would be perfect. Everyone is still hoping we didn't play ourselves out of a quick fix for the franchise.

I made optimistic predictions last year with quality players like Schlemko and Byron sticking around and the plugs getting shipped to Mexico.
So I'll be realistic this year
