Default Laptop Screen Issue

I have a cheap Acer laptop and I'm having a really weird issue with the display. It runs perfectly fine on the battery, but as soon as I plug in the charger the screen shuts off. If I unplug the charger, it comes back on like nothing happened. I've tried every solution I could think of and nothing has worked.

I'm stumped, anyone have any suggestions before I buy a new one? It's not on warranty anymore and it's not worth it to fix this one since it was so cheap.

check the power options, make sure the screen is not set to turn off when plugged in.

Try matching the power settings in power management to the unplugged settings? If the settings are at 60% with unplugged then change the plugged in settings to that. Just a thought.

An issue with the power settings was my first thought so I reset them all to default settings. Unfortunately didn't work.

Oddly enough, it was working fine again yesterday, but today it went back to not working.
