I really feel like the key hole for the Flames to contend in the future is defensive depth. I know you should take BPA but I'm still hoping for a potential top-4 minute muncher with a strong 2-way game. Jeremy Roy is my pick. Hockey IQ, speed, PP QB.

Thomas Chabot
A quick-thinking two-way defenseman that is able to make fast decisions and help his team whenever he is on the ice. Possesses excellent mobility and has good individual puck skills; can catch the opposition off guard with his speed. All-in-all, a player who strives to be better with every shift, staying a student of the game. Has the potential to flourish into a very reliable all-around defenseman that can eat up minutes.

Defencemen are tougher to predict than forwards, but easier than goalies. Go strong on D in round 2 and pick Russians while the ruble is down.

I'm voting Colin White. Not sure if we pick him but I like what is being said about him. Speedy, responsible game. Coaches will love him, already has NHL habits. Comparable to Patrice Bergeron. Going to be a very good pro. Safe pick.

My quick takes on each one:
Jakub Zboril More of a stay at home defenceman with a little offensive upside. Comparable to Marc Staal. Yevgeni Svechnikov Big body scoring winger. Needs to work on consistency and commitment in defensive zone. Travis Konecny Small body tenacious forward. Durability concerns. Thomas Chabot This year's Travis Sanheim (in terms of climbing the rankings) 2 way defenceman with good offensive upside. Colin White 2 way center. Somewhat of a safe pick. Jeremy Roy Offensive right shooting d-man Oliver Kylington Offensive d-man. Once a concensus top 5 pick. Best skater of the draft. Tumble down rankings is a concern. Still might have potential to be elite. Brandon Carlo Large mobile stay at home defenceman with a mean streak. Brock Boeser Future goal scorer. Has all the tools to be elite sniper/finisher. Jansen Harkins Great 2 way playmaking center. Already knows the defensive side of the game very well. How fortunate are the Flames to have 2 rounds of playoffs and still be in a position to get one of these guys.

I'd be ecstatic over drafting most of the guys listed, but I voted Konecny. He's going to be a great NHL player, despite his size (5'10'').
Boeser and White were not far behind for me.

I like Chabot and that's who I hope they take barring any unpredicted drop off from the top 10.
However if my simulated NHL 2015 GM mode is to be believed then the Flames should trade down and grab Daniel Sprong , the guy turns into a beast by 2019-20 and will become one of the most dominant forwards in the game leading Calgary to 3 straight cups.

Yes - the thread you created discusses the #15 pick.
This poll is part of the CP Mock draft (http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?t=147075) where it is the Flames' selection at #15.
The same yet different.

Voted Chabot. For me it was between him, Harkins, and Konecny.

I voted Svechnikov, but only in the hopes that we move up into around #25 if Kylington is still there. Get two potentially high impact players in the first round.

Travis Konecny. Speed, tenacity, grit and finish. What more do you want? I see a little bit of Bennett in him.

Voted for Kylington, not every player that falls down the rankings is destined to be a bust. However if he is available at 15 and the Flames don't take him I would assume they have their reasons and would trust their decision. Plenty of great prospects on that list
