We are sending a similar letter to the author of the tweet, Mr. Anthony Adragna.
"It is bad enough that there are people who spend their time using social media to publish such false and malicious stories, but it is made much worse when a reputable media outlet like TSN gives broad circulation and credibility to these false stories by republishing them as TSN did.
"If TSN and Mr. Adragna do not immediately comply with the demands set out in our letters, we have instructions from our clients to immediately commence a lawsuit against them.

i was trying to figure out what TSN did, thanks for the posting the pic.
my immediate reaction changed completely when i see the actual tweet. Idiots tweeting random ish is one thing, but for TSN to post that Tweet on the air is definitely poor judgement.

Justified. Burke set the precedent. Couple this along with the Curt Schilling fiasco, it's about time some accountability to the media and the nincompoops who post salacious comments be enacted.

Yeah I can't believe TSN would allow that on their live TV coverage. Even if it was proven to be true and was common knowledge (I have never heard of this before), it would still be in very poor taste.

Yeah, that seems reasonable. I cant believe whoever's job it was to screen those let that get on air.
I can already hear the 'we dont screen the tweets' defence.

Earlier today, an inappropriate and disrespectful tweet was erroneously aired. As soon as it was flagged, we immediately removed it. (1/3)
We’ve reached out to the Toronto Maple Leafs organization and all those impacted to extend our sincerest apologies for our error. (2/3)
It should have never, ever gone to air. (3/3)

I don't understand why broadcasts and networks want to post twitter feeds on the screen anyways. It doesn't add any value to the broadcast or to the viewing public. They should just stop this practice altogether.

I actually watched most, if not all, of the TradeCentre broadcast and that tweet was actually being shown quite often on screen. It certainly wasn't a one time thing.

I don't understand why they air fan tweets. They should be posting their hockey panel tweets, which create excitement that the panel can elaborate on.

Normally I would shake my head at another millionaire suing someone over something superfluous.
But I agree with Dion, his wife, & Lupul. So dumb of TSN. Like beyond Dumb.
I could almost understand to a degree when they let the Final Solution Draisatl tweet air live during the draft because I figured "OK TSN probably hired some dumb college intern to monitor their twitter feed who probably has no clue what Final Solution actually means".
Anyone would know that this new tweet is offensive. I hope Dion & Lupul ruin TSN.
